Rebecca Nguyen, an 18 year old university student, is fundraising for Learning Links in Sydney’s annual City2Surf fun run.
Rebecca, who is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts Primary Education and also a Bachelor of Applied Leadership and Critical Thinking, chose to fundraise for Learning Links because she has strong beliefs in the power of education for all.
“Everyone has the rights to education regardless of their circumstance,” Rebecca said.
“Learning Links really stood out to me as I can see the passion and effort the team there puts into educating and helping children with learning difficulties.”
To help her reach her fundraising goal she has decided to start her own small business selling beautiful flower arrangements, with all proceeds going to Learning Links.
“I have shown my support for Learning Links by selling flowers on my Instagram @rosesxbeck with all the profits going to my City2Surf fundraising,” she said.
“My team and I have also spread the word through social media, asking our friends and family to get involved in our fundraising efforts.”
For Rebecca and her team – Jason, Edward, Calvin and Kylie – their aim is to hit their goal of $4000 before the deadline of 18 October.
This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the run will be entirely digital with the participants choosing their own 14 km race to run.
We’ll be cheering on Rebecca and her team all the way to the finish line on race day!
