Learning Links has been supporting children who face difficulties with learning for over 50 years. Working with thousands of families each year across clinical, early childhood, school and community settings, we have unique insight into the various systems that seek to support them, including the NDIS.
We know that with the right supports at the right time that children who face difficulties with learning and development have every opportunity to thrive. However, they need effective, equitable systems that wrap around them, their family, education setting and community, reinforced by flexible and sustainable funding models that are easy to navigate and access.
The following recommendations were recently submitted to the Department of Social Services to guide the design of Targeted NDIS Foundational Supports and address existing funding and support gaps for the children and families we work with.
