Federal Member for Banks, David Coleman MP, has announced that Learning Links in Peakhurst will receive funding from the Australian Government to assist with upgrades to its therapy rooms.
Learning Links will receive $10,000 under the Government’s Stronger Communities Programme for the upgrades. The upgrades involve replacing furniture and equipment, and purchasing new desks, cupboards, chairs and therapy equipment. The funding will also be used to purchase new air conditioning units for the Centre.
“Learning Links is an important resource for families in the St George area” Mr Coleman said.
“The Centre provides educational support, occupational and speech therapy and several other programmes”.
Learning Links Chief Executive Officer Birgitte Maibom said that this funding will provide much needed assistance to the Centre.
“Demand for the Centre’s services is increasing. We now service more than 600 children each year in the Hurstville area. This funding will allow us to deliver our services appropriately”, Mrs Maibom said.
“Providing our children with creative and engaging rooms is crucial for their learning”.
