Updates to NDIS Terms and Conditions

4.    Key Worker model for participants under 7 years accessing Early Childhood Supports

Learning Links Allied Health professional delivering supports to participants under 7 years of age may provide the following as required:

  • Collaborate with other Learning Links professionals providing supports
  • Collaborate with external professionals providing supports
  • Develop resources that can be shared with professionals, your family and other agencies as required
  • Facilitate or participate in scheduled IFSP or review meetings
  • Provide a NDIS Review Report or Progress Report or Transition Report

Please note: The above options will be invoiced and are primarily scheduled per quarter

5.    Emergency and Disaster Planning Management

Learning Links will work with you in the following ways to mitigate risks to your child’s wellbeing in the event of an emergency or disaster:

  • Learning Links maintains a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Policy and Procedure
  • A Care Plan for your child can be developed following consultation with you in response to the identification of known vulnerability and/or risk following an emergency or disaster occurring.
  • Alternative service delivery options will be made available to participants in the event that service delivery is compromised as a result of an emergency or disaster
  • Options available in the event of an emergency or disaster include:
  • Accessing services online
  • Allocating a different professional to your child (where available)
  • Amending your child’s support plan in consultation with you
  • A parent or family member accessing online supports in instances where your child is unable to participate in the support session/s
  • Resources developed for you to use within the home environment
  • Referral to external professionals and/or agencies

6.    Transition Support

Learning Links is committed to providing participants with information and support through the process of transition into, or exiting from, the organisation’s services:

  • Participants are provided with the necessary information and support through the process of transition into, or exit from one or more of our programs
  • Participant transition strategies and exit planning may be documented in the participant’s support plan
  • A Transition Report/ Progress Report or NDIS Review Report will be provided to participants transitioning from one or more programs
  • Entry and exit process for programs are transparent; Learning Links adopts fair and non-discriminatory practices when a participant chooses to, or is required to, exit from one or more of our programs
  • We may collaborate with other providers for a planned transition to, or from, our service

7.    Learning Links Professionals

NDIS supports are delivered by one or more professionals as follows:

  • Professionals are required to maintain a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • Professionals are required to maintain professional registration with the relevant professional body
  • Core Module Supports for children over 7 years are delivered by one or more of the following:
    • Education Specialists
    • Occupational Therapists
    • Provisionally Registered Psychologists
    • Registered psychologists
    • Speech Therapy Aides
    • Speech Pathologists

Early Childhood Supports for children under 7 years are delivered by one or more of the following:

  • Occupational Therapists
  • Provisionally Registered Psychologists
  • Registered Psychologists
  • Speech Therapy Aides
  • Speech Pathologists

Early Childhood supports for children enrolled in the Preschool accessing therapy support are further supported by the team around the child, including an Early Childhood Teacher.

10. Short Notice Cancellation Terms

Effective 1 July 2022, Learning Links will charge a cancellation fee if we do not receive notice of cancellation of a session / support 7 days in advance of the scheduled session/ support.

The NDIS defines short notice cancellations as cancellations where:

  • Your child does not attend a session / support at the scheduled time
  • Learning Links is unable to find alternative billable work for the professional providing the service to your child and are required to pay the professional for the time that would have been spent providing the support.
  • The support is less than 8 hours duration.

Learning Links’ short notice cancellation fee will be charged at up to 100% of the scheduled fee for Education Support, Occupational Therapy, Psychological Therapy, and Speech Therapy services.

NB: Learning Links will not charge a cancellation fee in those instances where notice of greater than 7 days business notice is provided.
