At Learning Links our vision of creating a community where difficulties learning are no longer a barrier to a fulfilling life includes the belief that every child has the right to communicate and interact with others in a meaningful way. We are passionate about helping children to reach their speech and language goals and do this by creating a friendly and nurturing environment that empowers children to build the skills and confidence to express themselves, understand others and let their personality shine.

The heart of Learning Links’ approach lies in its dedication to individualised care, recognising that each child’s journey is unique. Our speech therapists employ a diverse range of activities, programs and exercises tailored to each child’s needs. Through a combination of one-on-one sessions, consultations and family education, we aim to provide comprehensive support to children and their caregivers.

Our dedicated team of 23 speech pathologists and 17 therapy aides, works closely with families, schools, and in early childhood settings to ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive. Last year alone, we supported 1,920 children through speech therapy, empowering them to communicate with greater confidence. The team worked in 32 school communities as well as delivering our evidence-based programs in our centres and online.

In 2023, Learning Links expanded its speech therapy aide program which enabled us to identify and support more children with language difficulties and delays. Through our Therapy Aides in Schools program, our aides run a school-based oral language program for students in years K-2, empowering them to develop essential vocabulary and sentence structure skills. Last year 125 children were supported through this program.

As Learning Links continues its mission to empower children with communication difficulties, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our donors for their generous support. Funding from nine clubs will enable us to run speech programs in ten schools across Sydney, empowering over 400 children to build the foundation speech and language skills they need to communicate with confidence.

We would like to say a special thanks to Officeworks, a committed supporter of Learning Links, who generously donated a diverse range of learning games and stationery essentials to our speech therapy team. This thoughtful donation promises to enrich our therapy sessions, providing our young learners with engaging tools to enhance their communication skills and foster academic growth.

It is through these contributions that Learning Links can continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of children, helping them to communicate confidently and engage fully with the world around them.
