Our second Learning Links Scrabble Challenge was held on Wednesday 15th June at Parliament House. It was a fantastic night hosted by the always charming (sometimes naughty) James Valentine, with 128 guests proving their Scrabble skills amongst a great night of food, drinks and networking. After three rounds of serious competition, “The Beauty and the Beasts” were crowned winners of the Scrabble Team Cup. Geoff Schembri won the Individual trophy for the second year in a row. It seems Geoff is the man to beat so start training (or saving) now for next year folks!

Team Rankings and top 40 Individual Rankings. We raised over $10,000 profit on the night which will go towards supporting children with learning difficulties. This money will make a real difference to these kids. Fantastic result!
We were joined on the night by Aaliyah Smith and her proud parents. Aaliyah was the recipient of our 2016 Learning Links Scholarship which was very generously donated by CBD Connect. Aaliyah received $1,100 which will go towards her education support lessons.
John Cavaleri, one of our star students, also joined us on the night to help with our fundraising activities and chat to our guests.
We simply could not have run the event without the support of our generous sponsors:
Ingleburn RSL – our Platinum sponsor and a great support of ours through ClubGrants.
AV1 – audio visual services sponsor.
CBD Connect – Learning Links scholarship sponsor.
Kurtis Page Initiatives – sponsor of the Learning Links Art Competition.
Thank you to all those who donated their time and services to help with our fundraiser. We were overwhelmed with the support of so many groups and individuals.
We look forward to sharing another Learning Links Scrabble night with you in 2017!
