Funding Opportunities

There are different types of Government subsidies available for eligible children and families accessing early childhood education services, including:

Start Strong for Families Funding

The Start Strong Funding program provides funding to deliver affordable quality preschool education for 3 to 5 year old children enrolled in eligible community and mobile preschools in NSW. This funding is designed to significantly reduce preschool fees, making 600 hours of early childhood education more affordable for families.

Families may save up to $4,220 a year for eligible 3-5 year old children in eligible community and mobile preschools in 2024.

More information on payments and eligibility criteria can be found on the NSW Government Start Strong Funding webpage.

Fee Relief Funding

Fee assistance is available to families who have a Low Income Health Care Card or other approved evidence of low income. Information on the income levels for Low Income Health Care Card holders can be found on the Centrelink website www.centrelink.gov.au.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

The new Child Care Subsidy package is not available to families with children enrolled in a community preschool.
