Learning Links has been helping families and children with learning difficulties for over 40 years. Our aim is to prevent learning difficulties from causing disadvantage. Our interventions include literacy, numeracy, speech and occupational therapies, assessments and counselling.

About the role

We are seeking provisional psychologists to provide counselling intervention and/or assessment services to children and parents at our Peakhurst, Bella Vista, Maroubra and Liverpool locations.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications for counselling position:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology (4 year equivalent)
  • Provisional registered as a Psychologist through AHPRA under 4+2 or 5+2 pathway
  • Experience developing, delivering and adapting intervention plans for children and young people
  • Experience building rapport and developing positive relationships with children and parents
  • Sound understanding of attachment theory, CBT and solution focused

Desirable

  • Group facilitation skills for children, young people and or parents
  • Working with children with Autism

Essential skills, experience and qualifications for assessor position:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology (4 year equivalent)
  • Provisional registered as a Psychologist through AHPRA under 4+2 or 5+2 pathway

Your primary supervisor has deemed you competent in:

  • Administering, interpreting and writing associated reports for cognitive (WISC, WPPSI) and academic (WIAT) assessments
  • Oral and written communication
  • Experience building rapport and developing positive relationships with children and parents

Desirable

  • Experience in diagnosing intellectual disability, specific learning disability, ADHD
