What’s it about?
Are you concerned about your students’ understanding of what they have read? Do you want more strategies to help your students expand their vocabulary?
Vocabulary is the most important predictor of reading comprehension, to understand something you have read you need to know what the words mean. In this practical workshop you will learn how to select the words to teach and develop strategies and resources to introduce words and build a stronger vocabulary.
Completing this course will contribute 3 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 1.2.2, 1.5.2, 3.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
