Junior Assistant Accountant
We are looking for a Junior Assistant Accountant to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. This role supports our Finance team based at Alexandria with flexible options to also work from home one day a week.
We need someone who can work autonomously, has exceptional attention to detail, has effective communication skills, and can work collaboratively in a team environment.

What you’ll do
In this role day to day, you will be:
- Providing broad financial accounting activities and support to the Finance and Housie Operations team
- Ensuring the accuracy of session information is processed in a timely fashion and rectifying issues as they arise
- Maintaining an accurate and timely Cash Receipting and Cash Matching/Accounts Payable function
- Managing the complete Housie stock cycle, including reviewing and sending POs, tracking orders, and updating inventory in the system
- Supporting regular stock-takes (at least quarterly) and processing adjustments as required
- Performing daily bank reconciliations and client accounts reconciliation
- Responding to clients’ accounts queries
- Purchasing Housie operations stock from approved suppliers
- Providing financial, administrative, and clerical support within the finance team.
- Ensuring the integrity of financial management information system.
- Implementing Learning Links’ accounting policies, transactions, procedures, and practices and making sure they are carried out in accordance with accounting standards and all laws and regulations.
- Learning Links has invested in modern technology, as part of our digital transformation to enable our team to be successful and efficient. We use Salesforce as our CRM and Certinia as our finance system along with Microsoft suite of products.

Your team
Our Finance team are focused on achieving great outcomes, but also very social. We work closely together and maintain a high level of integrity in everything we do, but love to get together for a coffee, celebrate birthdays and enjoy the occasional social events.
We work across multiple locations to provide services where we are needed, however our main location of work is Alexandria. The team all works flexibly and are in and out of the office throughout the week.
What you’ll bring
- An Accounting degree or study towards
- Excellent time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines
- Positive team player with a collaborative focus
- Detail oriented demonstrating attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality outcomes
- Strong MS Excel skill
- Self-starter with a positive and 'can-do' attitude with a strong work ethic
- Prior experience in accounting software would be an advantage
