The Primary Club of Australia

We would like to thank the Primary Club for the generous funding to create a safe outdoor play area for toddlers at Oatley Cottage.

The outdoor space at Oatley Cottage is now a wonderful safe, level play space with plants, turf, decking and safety fencing for babies, toddlers and young children to enjoy an outdoor area to play.

We sincerely appreciate the ongoing support the Primary Club has offered us over the years and it has been wonderful to see the children’s excited faces as they explore their new place to play!

St George Foundation

On behalf of the children and families of Learning Links we would like to express our sincere thanks to the St George Foundation for their very generous donation that will allow us to purchase the Leckey Early Sitting and Early Activity Systems.

The Early Sitting System helps young children who cannot sit alone or with enough control to engage in activities that require sitting. The Early Activity System is a series of flexible, versatile positional supports, which are used to help develop co-ordination and strengthen muscles particularly for babies with disabilities or development delays.

The Leckey Activity System and Seating System will be very welcome additions to our therapy programs for young children.

The Good Guys and United Way Sydney

Our thanks to The Good Guys and United Way Sydney for their ongoing support for the children and families of Learning Links.

We would like to thank The Good Guys Alexandria for supporting speech therapy for children with speech, language and communication difficulties at our Eastern Suburbs Branch at Randwick; The Good Guys Bankstown for supporting the Bankstown families attending our Early Starters programs; The Good Guys South Nowra for continuing to support a Reading for Life program and The Good Guys Caringbah for continuing to support a Reading for Life program.

Thank you to Mr Buman for the very generous donations and support for our St George & Sutherland Case Management Program.

Learning Links is delighted to be the beneficiary of the donations and the funds will be put towards our ‘Carers’ dinner to be held on October 29. We held a ‘Carers’ function for the first time last year and it proved to be a great success. It provided a wonderful opportunity for carers to take time to relax while sharing a meal with other carers who are experiencing similar life struggles. Thank you for helping to support Learning Links’ families in this way.

Manager Performance Systems

Our thanks to Mr Geoff Williams of Manager Performance Systems for nominating Learning Links as the beneficiary of a donation resulting from an on line internal communication survey for Unilever Australia.

These funds will go towards our Reading for Life program and will assist children to improve their early literacy skills, enjoy reading and feel good about their ability to learn and succeed at school.

Our sincere thanks to Mr Leba Awad of Flowers Express for his generous donation to support our ‘Carers Luncheon’ again later this year.  Last year was the first time we held a ‘Carers Luncheon’ and it proved to be a great success. It provided a wonderful opportunity for carers to take time to relax while sharing a meal with other carers who are experiencing similar life struggles. It was also a reminder to those carers that their tireless work makes an enormous difference to the lives of their children and families.

On behalf of the Eastern Suburbs Branch of Learning Links our thanks to Mrs Mardi Murray for donating towards purchasing a much needed TV/Video for use at the Branch. This is an extremely generous gesture and represents a considerable cost saving to Learning Links.

Westpac Banking Corporation Volunteers

On behalf of Learning Links, Early Childhood Services staff, preschool staff and families, we would like to thank Westpac Engadine Branch and the following five volunteers, Vinh Le, Owen Draper-Roberts, Phet Phimmachanh, Susan Smith and Helen Stefanis who helped with a variety of tasks at our preschool and Oatley Cottage in mid-July 2008.  The volunteers painted an outdoor wall at Oatley Cottage which completes the recent improvements to the outdoor area.  They also cleaned and maintained children’s equipment in the Preschool and painted the bathroom in our building. Thank you for your fabulous job.

Write4Fun

We would like to thank Write4fun for continuing to support the children and families of Learning Links. 

Write4fun runs short story and poetry competitions for children and publishes many of these works in special editions. These special editions are then sold and Learning Links receives a donation for each book purchased.  Thanks again to Write4fun for their generous support.

Reed Elsevier & LexisNexis

Early Childhood Intervention Australia (NSW Chapter)

Sun-Herald City to Surf – Everyday Heros

This year, the Sun-Herald City to Surf continued with their online fundraising initiative and runners raised over $500 for the children and families of Learning Links.

Learning Links’ Preschool Trivia Night

On behalf of the children and families of Learning Links we would like to thank the following people and businesses for supporting our Learning Links’ Preschool Trivia Night.

The 2008 Trivia Night was the single most successful fundraiser organised by parents in the 35-year history of Learning Links.  The money raised will be used towards new safety fencing, a new computer and major internal refurbishment of the classrooms. This amazing fundraising effort will benefit the 117 Preschool children and their families who currently attend our program, as well as the hundreds of children who will attend our service in the years to come.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the hardworking volunteers and parent committee members.

Thank you firstly to our volunteer parent committee comprising Patrina McCarren, Debbie Crosby, Janet Grbevski, Katie McClean and Karen Kempe.

Special thanks also to Carmel Date and Jenny Grant for their assistance leading up to the Trivia Night and the night itself.
