Share to Learn

If you live or work in Fairfield, Share to Learn offers a range of activities to give all children the chance for a happy and positive future. Some of the initiatives will include:

FREE story books and tip sheets for parents of young children;
FREE training for child care and family day care centre staff through 'The Hanen Program - Learning Language and Loving it';
FREE workshops for parents;
FREE training for community workers and volunteers working with or coming into contact with young children and families; and
FREE information sessions at libraries and community events.

Share to Learn offers young children and their parents, carers and families free activities and support to help give children the best possible future. It also offers support for anyone in the 2165 community working with or caring for young children.

What is Share to Learn?

Share to Learn is an early intervention strategy for children from birth to five years that focuses on experiences and activities vital to literacy competency at school.

As part of the Communities for Children initiative, Share to Learn is helping to foster a neighbourhood that celebrates opportunities for children and families to play, learn and build a happy and positive future.

Share to Learn recognises that every child learns from their family first and the time parents spend with their children every day makes a difference.

The program will share with parents the importance of taking time to play, talking about everyday things and experiences, sharing stories and books, singing songs and listening to their children.

Building happy and positive futures

Communities for Children (C4C) is a new four-year $3 million initiative in Fairfield, Fairfield East, Fairfield West and Fairfield Heights (postcode 2165) facilitated by the Smith Family. It is funded by the Australian Government under the Stronger Families and Community Strategies.

Learning Links is the community partner that will be implementing Share to Learn as part of this initiative.
