CDSE Support

Under the State Government's Liquor and Registered Clubs Community Partnership legislation, clubs earning in excess of $1m in gaming machine profit per year are encouraged to donate funds to the local community as part of the CDSE scheme.

By supporting community organisations, Clubs can reduce the amount of duty payable on the top marginal rate. They must donate to eligible organisations in either of the following two categories:

Category 1 - Specific Community Welfare, Community Health Services, Community Development, Social Services and Employment Assistance Activities,

or

Category 2 - Other Community Development and Support.

The CDSE scheme is a shared State Government-Club Industry program, funded by a 1.5% gaming machine tax rebate provided by the State Government to those registered clubs with gaming machine profits in excess of $1 million per annum.

How Does Learning Links Fit?

Learning Links is a Category 1 organisation as it is a charity providing specialist education and therapy services to children who have difficulty learning and their families.

Learning Links has been working with local registered clubs for many years and has been benefiting from this initiative from its inception in 1998.

Learning Links is able to provide specific projects tailored to a club's local community. Our local representation and outreach programs allow us to direct funds to local communities and local government areas. We can also satisfy all reporting requirements using the Department of Gaming and Racing forms.

Benefits

Learning Links has a reputation for excellence and professionalism - a caring and compassionate organisation that assists children who have difficulty learning and their families. It is non-denominational and non-profit.

Learning Links acknowledges donations from registered clubs in Learning Links' News, a highly regarded quarterly publication distributed to families, health professionals, politicians, businesses, teachers and other supporters.

Non-profit charities like Learning Links are often able to gain media coverage of donations, our services and events because our stories have strong community interest. Families often help by telling their stories to help others in similar situations.
