Koori Kids
Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation and Learning Links welcome Aboriginal children and their families living in the Sutherland Shire to our playgroup, Koori Kids.
Koori Kids is a great place to play and chat.
It operates each Monday during school terms from 10.30am - 12.30pm at Menai District Youth Centre, Alison Crescent, Menai.
There is time to play and time to share stories, paint, throw a ball and sing together. We provide a variety of educational play experiences inside and outside for babies and preschoolers.
Fruit, sandwiches and refreshments (a healthy morning tea) is enjoyed by the children and parents at morning tea time.
We also have visitors like the Aboriginal Health worker to talk about things you would like to know more about.
This is a free service. If you would like to join us at Koori Kids please phone Learning Links on (02) 8525 8222.
Free transport to and from the group is available to families by phoning Neil on 0405 366 402.
You can also print a flyer with the details of the playgroup by clicking here. (This document is a pdf and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader click here to download the free software.)
Koori Kids currently receives crucial operational funding from the Australian Government Department of Family and Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
There are also a number of other organisations who have supported or currently support this group including Sutherland Shire Council, who provided the initial funding in 2002 to set-up the group.
Our generous supporters since the group's inception include The O'Neill Foundation, Telstra Foundation, The St.George Foundation, Milton Corporation Foundation, Norman Catts Trust Fund, Rotary Club of Caringbah and Sutherland District Trade Union Club (Tradies). We sincerely thank all those who have generously helped and funded Koori Kids.
