Cartridge Recycling

Recycle your Printer & Fax Cartridges to Help Kids

Learning Links has joined with Cartridge Collection Pty Ltd to recycle used Ink Jet and Laser Printer and Fax cartridges.

Recycling these cartridges is an important environmental issue. Millions are dumped as landfill each year and then new cartridges are imported to replace them.
Not only will recycling help the environment by reducing landfill, but it will also help our balance of payments because each recycled cartridge means one less imported into Australia.

When cartridges are recycled they are pulled apart in Australia, refilled and then sold back to Australians at a lower price than an imported cartridge. If you participate in a recycling program your company does not have to purchase recycled cartridges - you can still use new cartridges.

Cartridge Collection will pick up your cartridges for free and pay Learning Links an amount per cartridge to help us help children who have difficulty learning. You can even encourage your employees to bring in their used cartridges from home. Not all cartridge types can be recycled and you can contact Cartridge Collection for a list of those cartridges they can collect.

You can go straight to www.cartridgecollection.com.au click on "Get Started" to receive an "obligation free" starter pack. Please nominate Learning Links when you complete this form.

There is very little for you to do once you have found out if your cartridges are recyclable. Cartridge Collection will provide you with all the information you need and help you set it up. All you have to do is wrap each cartridge in plastic wrap such as cling wrap or put in a plastic bag. Place the cartridges in a cardboard box and when it is full (minimum of 15 cartridges) go to www.cartridgecollection.com.au and click "Collect", complete the details and print the address page to put on the outside of each box. A courier will then collect the boxes, sort through the cartridges and send a cheque to Learning Links to help children in need.

It is simple, great for the environment and helps some very special children. We'd love you to come on board and help us care for our environment and our kids - it's a double dose of community spirit.

Learning Links would like to publicise the program and if your business is interested in being a part of our program and possibly featured in your local paper, we would love to hear from you.

If you'd like more information, contact Wendy Maloney on (02) 8525 8250.

Learning Links received a total of $473.57 in 2007 from Cartridge Collection Pty Ltd for the recycling of toner and inkjet cartridges.
